Welcome to our new podcast, Recipes for Your Best Life

I don’t know about you, but, I’ve got some strong opinions about food, fitness and how to live a clean lifestyle.
First, the idea of a diet is ridiculous.I mean, why would you ever want to willingly do something that starts with DIE?

An approach to eating, fitness, and a sustainable lifestyle begins with the truths you believe and the habits you form.
In my 25+ years in the food industry and (almost) 50 times around the sun, I’ve found 8 eternal truths that you can repeat to to infinity:
1) Have a plan. Shop with a list and meal prep to save your waistline your wallet and your sanity.
2) Eat regular, smaller meals. Easier on the digestion, supports sustained blood sugar levels, boosts metabolism.
3) Give your body a break. Two-3 times a week, let go of the animal proteins, even if you aren’t vegan.
4) Fill up on greens. Every. single. day. They’re the most nutrient dense foods on the planet and the power of those phytonutrients is age defying.
5) Steer clear of refined, sugary, fried, processed anything. If it has an infinite shelf life, do you want it in your body. That’s a big fat NO.
6) Chew slowly. Being in a hurry to eat always leads to eating more than you should. Your body doesn’t even know it’s full until 20 minutes in. Taste. your. food.
7) Fat is your friend. Eating good, plant-based fat between meals is a great strategy for staying satiated. A few tablespoons of cashews, some jicama sticks and hummus, you get the picture.
8) Indulge every week. It’s not only ok, it’s necessary. Your metabolism will benefit from eating the 90/10 way – 90% clean, 10% extra. That equals 3-4 meals a week, where you can enjoy a few hundred extra calories.

BUT…Food is just part of the recipe.
In my new podcast, Recipes For Your Best Life, we dive into it, and we dish on ways to make your life the juiciest. Because at the end of the day, it’s about how much JOY you can squeeze. Each episode is about 15 to 20 minutes long, ‘cuz, I don’t know about you but I ain’t got all day to listen to people spew. ??
.
There are 10 episodes up now, and every FriYAY, you’ll get a new one. Podcasts are my ‘go-to’ in the morning for motivation, in the car, and when I’m working out. Always a student! .
