The best burger ever

The best burger ever

Ice cold, crisp lettuce, tomato and pickle intermeshing with the perfectly grilled meat, juxtaposed with right amount of condiments and melting cheese (active verb, in progress) marrying and cohorting together in perfect, synonymous bliss, like a symphony of brass, strings and voice harmonizing as one.

Burger 1IMG_3340Listen, it’s not easy to do. It’s the right raw materials, seasoning, timing, layering, proportion and temperature control that all plays a role in the success of the Mac Mamma Burger. Because, these are not just for men, y’all. Women like to wrap their mouths around something big and juicy, too.

The burger is enough, really.

So, here’s what I’ve got. This version that does the trick every time. It’s layered with the kind of condiments you can get behind and the organic beef is seasoned just right so you don’t have to make it sloppy with a bunch of toppings Plus the cheese is on the inside, so when you bite in, that cacophony – that explosion – is just like love. The trick is to make the burger on the thicker side, about an inch-inch and a half, and make a divet in the middle – kind of like a belly button – so the juices run to the middle and not off the burger – AHHHH!

And if you are vegan or vegetarian, there’s always the veggieful version with beets or tempeh.

Make it saucy with a homemade ranch or romesco as an alternative to ketchup and punch up the nutritional factor. If you play your cards right, you’ll end up with a burger that rivals any restaurant.Take that, Bobby Flay!

So grab your spatula, a cute apron and some burgers. Girls CAN grill. You just need the confidence and the right stuff.
