Ultimate Spring Clean with these small modifications

With Spring just around the corner, it's time to "spring clean" your routine! Mareya Ibrahim, lifestyle and nutrition expert, celebrity chef and author of "Eat Like You Give A Fork: The Real Dish on Eating to Thrive" shares tiny modifications that she says can make a huge difference, and if you have a great routine but are not reaching your goals, making small tweaks can re-shock your system,

  • Sleep is a game changer but if you have a busy schedule or are a parent, this isn’t always the case. Be sure to implement 7-10 minutes of mindful rest of mindful meditation with no distractions as this can rejuvenate you to have a clear mind.
  • To eat or not to eat breakfast - intermittent fasting is a great way to detoxify your body and this helps with cravings and hunger as well. If you are a breakfast person, eat. There are great recipes to swap from what your usual routine looks like. Too much sugar in cereals and other breakfast foods can make you crash, be sure to add healthy fats to your plates and your energy will last throughout the day.
  • COFFEE. Coffee people, small changes to your coffee routine can be game changing! Try to stay away from sugars. Adding a healthy fat to your cup of joe can help sustain energy and make you feel not as hungry throughout the day!
  • Spring clean your fridge and pantry This is a big one but purging all the expired, stale, and open jars that have been there for a year, is so healthy and invigorating. Really map out a new eating strategy.
  • Revamp your date/sex life - tied down or not. Date your husband. It’s so important to keep your relationships alive and fun, and healthy as this trickles down to enjoying your happiness. You may need to spring clean your love life. Get rid of toxic relationship behavior and realign with yourself or with your partner. Put a bi-monthly date night in the books and switch off planning the night.
